Type 1 Dia-badass

Nothing cheers up a sad girl more than hanging out with a few of her diabetic friends. And planning elaborate pranks on our campers...seven months in advance. Or laughing for ten minutes straight about the time at diabetes camp Rashod had to ride the white horse named Confederate. Is it August yet?

What kinds of pranks do the diabetic campers plan? Is it just the typical saran wrapping a sleeping camper to their bunk bed, or is it more diabetic-specific?

They're pretty average pranks -- saran wrapping, shaving cream, Sharpie artwork on faces, etc.

However, at diabetes camp, we have an awesome advantage. At midnight and 3am, counselors check each camper's blood sugar and since the campers are so accustomed to us clunking around the cabin, if they wake up while we're pranking they tend to think it's just time to test so they fall back asleep. Works every time!
