I'm in a weird, reminiscent mood. It happened after Trevor told me he plans to go home for the third weekend in a row. And when I started listening to my "Top 25 Most Played" songs on iTunes.

The songs remind me of last winter and last spring. They bring back these vivid images.

My life was so different last November 1st.

The songs make me miss certain people, regret certain things I did, appreciate other decisions I made.

I need to go to bed.

Phoenix "1901"

I heard this song in the trailer for "New York, I Love You." And I love it.

"I Still Care For You"

While I was listening to my iPod on shuffle today, this forgotten song popped up. Reminds me again why I love Ray LaMontagne.

Has a song ever spoken to you?

You're listening when, all of a sudden, you realize holy shit...this artist has transformed my exact thoughts at this moment into beautiful music.

A blue, black shade of love
Sent from above
My hands are tied to worlds unknown,
And this I know
Your breath's like wine,
And just like clouds, my skin crawls
It's so divine, the sky it glows with fields of light

Did you know that I love you?
Come and lay with me
I love you
And all this day, I will love you
You make me feel alive,
and I'll love you
Until the end of time

My hands shake clasped with fear as you come near
To say goodnight, just like a dove
A peaceful sign
To help us by as you come in
Let this begin
Stars fall like dust, our lips will touch
We speak too much

Technologically handicapped

I need a new, more reliable iPod that holds more songs because, as it stands now, my brain is boycotting exercise without music. In the absence of a fast-paced, energetic beat in my ears, my legs are refusing to run. I've had to resort to using my old Sony Walkman which is bulky, ancient (it's one step above the portable cassette player and was considered "high-tech" back in the 80s) and it makes me look like a complete loser to all of the runners with their sleek iPods secured in those stupid freakin' armbands.
